The stadium in the Algarve was originally built for the 2004 European Football Championships, today it is used very little. It is located just outside of Faro not far from the Faro Airport. It is great when the Algarve can host such events ! The stadium is very nice and holds just over 30,000. If your planning a visit to the Algarve to see the event, be sure to find out more about the region at http://www.algarvechannel5.net - It is a website FULL of original video on the region. There is also the world record attempt of Human Mattress Domino's that has some pretty good video of the Algarve Stadium. found under http://www.hipalgarve.net/clips/nwci214.html The weather tends to be very nice at this time of the year, beaching is possible the water temp of the ocean around 17- 18 - the climate is very similar to southern California. I hope some of you can make it ....it is is full of culture, beauty, good wholesome food and nice people (english is widely spoken).
