I’ve been thinking a lot about how exactly to maximize this online community, and the more I discover about the WPS FanZone and what we can do in here, the better it becomes. From creating an interactive chatroom, to integrating videos and uploading photos, this site is incredible! I hope the players and fans get as much out of this as I believe they can.

On Sunday I took a drive to Lafayette, Indiana, with Emma Hayes and Alyse LaHue to watch FC Indiana vs. Ottowa Fury. This was the W-League Central Conference Championship and it was played at Purdue University.

I arrived in Philadelphia on Thursday excited to represent the Women’s Committee at the NSCAA Board of Director’s meeting. When I got there, I was cordially welcomed by Al Albert, the NSCAA President. He asked me if I’d be willing to accept a position on the BOD as the Women’s Professional Soccer representative. Of course I humbly, graciously, and immediately accepted.

CHICAGO (July 8, 2008) –Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) announced today the details of its player selection process leading into the kickoff of its inaugural season in April 2009. The Chicago Red Stars and all other WPS teams will build their rosters through an allocation of U.S. Women’s National Team stars, a draft of international players, combines, additional League drafts and local team tryouts.

My name is Scott Kucirek and I and a few friends are on a mission to bring a Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) team to Northern California for the 2009 season. Our journey started March 1, 2009, when after nearly a year of talking about how Northern California would be the ideal location for a professional women’s soccer team, I decided to dedicate my full time attention (i.e. not work at a paying job) to make this dream become a reality.
